Free Movie Nights in Stanley Park

stanley park moviesEach Summer the City of Vancouver is organizing free outdoor movie nights in Stanley Park. They put up a large fabric screen, a projector and big-ish speakers on the Ceperely Meadows (by the Second Beach). The movies start at the sunset.

A few of things to remember:

1. Bring your own chairs/blankets/anything to sit on.
2. It is a family-oriented event. No smoking or drinking is allowed (which is obvious, given that public drinking is prohibited in Canada (except for Quebec), and smoking is prohibited in Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, except for designated areas).
3. Donate. It is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. The benefiting charities are listed for each day.

Sadly, last year I only attended one screening, it was “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, during the rain (the movie didn’t get cancelled). This year I am sure to be going to visit the first two! You are welcome to join.
