Growlers – draft beer, where at?

beertogoThe Summer is (almost) here. We, as in Simple Vancouver crew and friends (you know who you are), are very excited about again being able to pack the stuff up and to go explore the great backyard Vancouver has to show off.

However, I also like beer. And, judging by the absence of the beer belly, we have a mixed though a mutual relationship. From what I understand, the BC laws and regulations are undergoing significant changes, and we will soon be able to consume alcohol in public places, such as beaches and parks (additional verification of the facts required). It appears, that most campsites already allow alcohol consumption, as long as you keep it within your campsite area and not on trails: it’s always a good idea to keep clean, responsible and respectful of others.

Back in Almaty, my hometown, draft beer to go is a big deal. Unlike Vancouver, you can use any bottle to fill in – here you need to have a special glass container called “Growler”, and I’ve seen these growlers in 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 litre sizes.

So far, I’ve sampled products from 3 of these breweries, but I’d love to try all of them someday. Not in one day though.

Here is the list in no particular order. It was completed with the help of Redditors Baconfat and 6745408.
