After a morning dip in Shuswap Lake (pictures above) we were on our way. My mom has noticed some old buildings from the window, so we stopped at the 3 Valley Gap Ghost Town exhibit.

Day 5 – July 13 // Lake Loiuse, Field, Golden, Revelstoke // Williamson’s Lake Campground

Day 5 – July 13
Lake Loiuse, Field, Golden, Revelstoke
Williamson’s Lake Campground (4/5)

IMG_20140713_132902191_HDRThe day has started at 8 am for us – the earliest so far. After a brief breakfast we went to Lake Louise, spent an eternity trying to find a parking spot large enough to accommodate an RV our size, took a few pictures and left. Lake Louise is a typical tourist trap: though very beautiful, it’s fairly small, and very crowded. The canoe rides are $45 per person, and they even have lineups with that price. It’s worth checking out if you’re nearby, but probably not worthy a lengthy trip. Originally, the plan was to head to Jasper, but the road was closed because of the forest fires, so we decided to take a route via Golden (a definition of boring), where we stopped for groceries, and stay in Revelstoke for the night.

Day 4 – July 12 // Columbia Lake viewpoint, Radium Hot Springs, Olive Lake, Banff // Mountain Tunnel RV Park

Day 4 – July 12
Columbia Lake viewpoint, Radium Hot Springs, Olive Lake, Banff
Mountain Tunnel RV Park 4/5

Woke up at around 9 for breakfast and started packing, and left at about 12. It took us a while to decide on whether we will stay overnight in Banff, or go straight to Lake Louise. With the weekend, finding an RV park that could fit a 32 ft. motorhome was not an easy task, but, luckily the Mountain Tunnel 1 in Banff had one open spot. I made a reservation via reservation.pc.gc.ca, and off we went.
